Overview

Online therapy offers a different setting from meeting in person. It can make scheduling easier and widen access to therapy in your preferred language.

You join the session through a private video link from a quiet space. The practical setup and privacy expectations are discussed before beginning.

Online work does not suit every person or situation. If a different level or format of care would be more appropriate, I will say so and help you consider alternatives.

Who This May Help

  • People in communities with limited access to local therapists
  • People who prefer the privacy and familiarity of their own space
  • Parents and carers for whom travel time is a significant barrier
  • People who speak more openly from their own familiar space
  • Those with irregular schedules, shift work, or frequent travel
  • Anyone for whom mobility, health, or transport makes in-person care difficult

Experiences People Often Describe

“There is nobody nearby who offers the kind of support I need.”
“I can speak about difficult things more easily from my own space.”
“An appointment plus travel does not fit around work and childcare.”
“I want consistent support even when my schedule or location changes.”

How Therapy May Work

  1. 01

    Preparing your space

A private room, stable connection, a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera, and headphones where useful can help you speak with enough privacy and attention.

  2. 02

    Agreeing on practicalities

We discuss privacy, your location, and what to do if the video connection fails so an important moment is not left hanging.

  3. 03

    Working with the format

I check in about what is harder to see online, including body responses and pauses, while using the comfort of your own space as part of the work.

A collaborative process

How I Approach This Work

I work deliberately to keep online sessions from feeling distant or flat. We slow down when something lands and name what may be less visible through a screen.

Clients can sometimes be more candid at home than in an unfamiliar office. If the online setting is not a responsible fit for what you need, I will be transparent about that.

Questions About This Work

Is online therapy the right format for me?

That depends on what you need, whether you can speak privately, and how the format feels to you. We can discuss fit during the consultation and review it again after sessions begin.

What if I do not have a private room?

It is worth finding a setup where you can speak freely. A parked car, an empty home, headphones, or white noise outside a closed door can sometimes help.

Can we work together wherever I am in Canada?

Availability depends on where you are located and the applicable professional requirements. Please share your location when you enquire so this can be confirmed before booking.
